DIY YARN PUMPKINS

Hey everyone!! Welcome back to another mile here on The Lifestyle Mile blog page!! Looking for a fun fall craft? Today I have a super fun and easy Fall-themed decor DIY tutorial!!! Stick around if you want to see how to make super cute yarn pumpkin decorations for your home!!

Be sure to leave a like and share it down below if you enjoy it! Your support really helps me grow my blog page! Thank you!

Items you will need:

  • Large threading needles

  • Yarn, color is your choice

  • Small styrofoam balls

  • Sticks from your backyard

  • Knife

  • Apple corer

  • Sharpie or marker

  • Scissors

Steps: (pictures and video are below!)

  1. Begin by collecting all of your items! Lay out a paper bag on your surface because as you cut the styrofoam, it will get messy!

  2. Next, take your small styrofoam ball and a knife and cut the lower 1/3 of your sphere off to create a flat surface for it to sit flat on. On the top of your styrofoam sphere, using your sharpie, mark off a 1 1/2'' - 2'' wide circle. Take your apple corer and core out directly through the ball from the top mark. You must core out enough width so your yarn will fit.

  3. Now take your needle and thread your yarn through. Once your yarn is through the needle, unravel the yarn, measuring the length of both arms width, and then repeat about six or seven times. Once you have a good amount of yarn length, take scissors and cut. Do not worry about running out of length on your sphere, you will just re-thread more if needed.

  4. Begin by pulling the needle entirely through the open center of your styrofoam from the bottom. Continue by letting all of the cut yarn pass through the center leaving a tail on the end so it does not completely pass through.

  5. Next, thread your yarn back through, overlapping and anchoring the tail of the yarn. Continue this process until the styrofoam is completely covered by yarn.

  6. As you get towards the end, you may want to shuffle some yarn over on the styrofoam or simply add more layers where there are imperfections or gaps.

  7. At the end, simply tuck the last part of your yarn thread in the core from the bottom of your ball.

  8. Now, go grab a stick from your backyard and stick it in the center of your ball to create a "pumpkin look!" Repeat this entire process for however many pumpkin decor pieces you would like!!

  9. Enjoy!!

That will be all for today's upload! Let me know if you try this out! I hope you enjoyed and got inspired! Have a wonderful rest of your day, don't forget to cherish every moment, be kind, and stay positive! You got this!
