This Is Your Sign To Drink Water

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another mile here on The Lifestyle Mile blog page! Today I want to inspire you about all things water! In today’s post, you can explore the benefits of water and what techniques and products I recommend for high water intake!

Some benefits of water:

Water regulates hydration throughout your body maintaining your skin’s elasticity. The moisture in your face aids a youthful, glowy, and healthy appearance. An increase in blood flow is also a result of drinking water. This will leave you with an even tone and complexion.

Water is present in most chemical reactions within your body. Through metabolic reactions, water is also involved in your energy production. This allows you to have adequate energy throughout your day.

Water improves your mood. Being dehydrated alters/throws off the dopamine and serotonin balances in your brain. A fast way to improve your mood is by drinking a few glasses of water and staying adequately hydrated throughout the day.

Water improves your brain function as it keeps cells active and balances chemical processes in your brain. It also increases your brain’s temperature while getting rid of toxins and dead cells. This helps regulate stress.

By staying hydrated, your body retains ideal amounts of moisture in certain places like in your blood, bones, spinal cord, and your brain. It acts as a cushion for your joints and tissue, protecting them in your daily life.

Water helps break down your food so your body can absorb all of the nutrients properly. It overall aids your digestive process.

Drinking water provides oxygen for your cells allowing them to operate at full capacity. This protects and fights off illnesses/viruses more efficiently. If you have a fever, drinking water may also help with regulating body temperature.

When you drink water, oxygen levels increase within your bloodstream. This leads to better circulation and improvements in your overall health.

Without water, your body cannot perform basic functions properly. Therefore, water is crucial for maintaining hydration.

Science recommended water intake: (via Mayo Clinic)

  • Men require about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of water each day

  • Women require about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of water each day

My tips for high water intake:

  • Use a straw!! This may sound silly but I swear by it! If you simply add a straw to any of your drinks, you will notice yourself finishing it quicker! Crazy… right?! Try it! I will link some of my fav straws here!

  • Always have your water bottle filled with ice-cold water for easy access to prevent any excuses! Even purchase a larger water bottle and fill it up in the morning to last you all day. Below I will link a highly rated water bottle here by Hydro Jug (I love their products).

  • Add Propel or any sugar-free electrolyte powder to your water! If you don’t like the plain taste of water, this quick hack is for you! Propel is awesome and affordable! I will link a 12 pack on Amazon here!

  • Lastly, purchase a water bottle that is fun/exciting and something you like! This will motivate you to pick it up and drink water!! Trust me… this works!! I currently use the Neon Pro Collection Hydro Jug with a classic sleeve (helps with condensation and maintaining temperature). I will link the Hydro Jug store here to shop. I also use the Yeti white Rambler 36oz with a straw top. The straw top makes a HUGE difference in my water intake!! They are very durable and it is totally worth the $$ splurge! I will link the Yeti water bottle here. I will link the Yeti straw cap here.

Today’s take-aways:

  • Drink frequently throughout the day!

  • NO Excuses.

  • Focus on how capable you are of becoming the BEST version of yourself.
